The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) is an intergovernmental military alliance established in 1949, aimed at ensuring the security and defense of its member countries through collective defense. Comprised of 32 member nations from North America and Europe, NATO’s primary goal is to safeguard the freedom and security of its members by political and military means. It promotes democratic values, enables members to consult and cooperate on defense and security-related issues, and carries out crisis management operations worldwide. NATO also engages in partnerships with non-member countries and international organizations to promote global peace, stability, and cooperative security.

Meet your Chairs!

Adwita Jagannathan is a senior at CJCP who is passionate about pursuing biomedical engineering/biotechnology. She has participated in Model UN for the past three years, winning 3 awards at international conferences. In addition to Model UN, Adwita is also co-captain of CJCP’s Science Olympiad team, as well as Head Mentor of CJCP’s middle school Future City club. Outside of school, she enjoys reading, listening to music, and watching movies!

Shloak Menon is a senior at CJCP. He has been in Model UN since 6th grade, and has attended 11 competitions over that period, winning 2 awards in international conferences. In his free time, Shloak loves bowling, he also plays varsity soccer for the school and loves to code. Shloak is so excited to help bring you this amazing conference.
